Thank you!
I want to thank everyone for their support, guidance, advice and encouragement during the last few months that consisted of my adventure of campaigning. I also want to thank Clint Howard for running a clean campaign as we both had discussed we would. I feel that the citizens were appreciative of a campaign being run in the manner that ours was conducted. Congratulations are extended to Bob Roche who will be occupying one of the council seats for District 2 beginning January 2008.
Congrats also to Brian Bates elected to represent District 2. Brian and I will be occupying our seats immediately. Our swearing in will be on November 19th. I don't have time or details currently, but will post as soon as I have the information. I may not know details until I receive
a copy of the agenda, if that is the case the entire agenda will be posted on this website.
Important Voting Information
December 4th - Doraville City Hall
We still have two very important decisions to make this election season. We have the task of electing a Council member from District 1, the runoff election between
Mrs. Pam Fleming and
Mr. John Noonan. Most importantly, we have to choose a captain to guide our ship of progress into the future; we must choose a Mayor for the term beginning January 2008. The results for the November 6 election were extremely close; according to the DeKalb County website...
MARLENE HADDEN 327 - 41.55%
RAY JENKINS (I) 312 - 39.64%
As the above information shows, there were only 15 votes separating the two candidates. This small difference demonstrates even further the value of every individual vote in our city. I know that often times one feels inconvenienced, aggravated, annoyed, "I have better things to do" about having to take the time to go to your polling place and cast your ballot. But please, look at the bigger picture. Look at how valuable your individual choice is in our City and our future.
